Studio Policies
Welcome to our studio family! We are so happy that you chose to take this incredible journey with us. Here are some policies designed to make things run more smoothly for everyone.
Enrollment
New students are welcome at any time, subject to availability.
Tuition
Tuition is due at the beginning of each month, and may be paid by check or through our online payment service, using PayPal. Tuition includes individual instruction.
Students who enroll mid-month will have their tuition prorated, but monthly tuition is non-refundable. Families commit to paying for lessons for the duration of the month.
If you need to discontinue lessons for any reason, please let the teacher know as soon as possible.
Absence/Attendance Policy
Due to the teacher’s busy schedule, it is generally not possible to make up a lesson for any reason, including student illness or prearranged family vacations. Refunds or credits are also not available under these circumstances.
In the event that a teacher has to miss a lesson, it will either be rescheduled at a time convenient for both parties, or the student’s account will be credited for that lesson.
Parents may take it upon themselves to “swap” lessons with other students periodically, as long as it is agreeable to both parties and the teacher is informed.
In the best interest of all involved, we ask that students who are feeling ill or have a fever or nausea remain at home to rest during their scheduled lesson and/or group class time.
Communication
Communication with parents and students will be made through the usual channels: emails, phone calls, texts, website and social media posts. If you have a concern of any sort concerning scheduling, home practice, student motivation, etc., please do not hesitate to set up a time to talk with the teacher about it!
Additional costs/responsibilities
Students will be required to have good-quality instruments and supplies to support them (rosin, wiping cloth, strings, shoulder rests, etc.)
The teacher will communicate to parents what books or materials the student should bring to each lesson.
At recital and contest times, if applicable, there may be a need to hire a piano accompanist, and the parents will responsible for his or her fee.
Occasionally, student groups may be asked to play concerts or recitals outside of their normal lesson or group times at locations in the community. Parents will be responsible for providing transportation to and from those events as well as supervision for their child.
